John Ronald Reuel Tolkien CBE FRSL was an English author and philologist. He was the creator of the great dream works The Hobbit and The Master of the Rings. From 1925 to 1945, Tolkien was the Rawlinson and Bosworth Teacher of Somewhat English Saxon and an Individual of Pembroke School, both at the College of Oxford.
